Privacy policy

This policy covers homeresetters.ca, the website of Home Resetters Property Services Inc., an incorporated handyman and property-services company in Toronto that serves Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough, Mississauga, and Vaughan and offers a cottage-care membership for GTA owners with cottages in Nipissing and North Bay, Temagami, Almaguin Highlands, and Huntsville and Lake of Bays.
We collect only what we need to quote, schedule and do your job, and to see which pages help people. We do not sell personal information.
What you send us
Our quote and reservation forms ask for your name, phone number, email, the address or postal code of the job, details of the work, and any photos you choose to attach. Cottage reservations also ask about the property and whether you rent it out. We use this to reply, quote, schedule and carry out the work.
Forms are processed by Netlify, which hosts this site. Netlify filters spam, which includes checking submissions with Akismet. Submissions are stored in our Netlify account and sent to our email inbox. When you call or email us, we keep the conversation so we can handle your job.
Bookings, invoices and payments
Bookings, invoices, deposits, memberships and payments run on Square's hosted pages. Square collects what it needs to process them under its own privacy notice. We see your name, contact details and what you paid; we never see your full card number.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies and records the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser, your approximate location, and taps on our phone, email and booking links. We do not use it to identify you. You can block analytics cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on.
Videos and reviews
Videos on this site load from YouTube only when you press play; YouTube's privacy policy applies from then on. Our Google reviews are copied onto the site when it is built, so reading them sends nothing to Google, except that reviewer profile photos, where shown, load from Google's servers.
Who we share it with
- Netlify (hosting and forms), Google (analytics) and Square (bookings and payments).
- A licensed contractor we coordinate for your job, who receives only the details needed for that job.
- Anyone the law requires us to share it with.
These providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local law.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and job records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet tax record-keeping rules, which in Canada is generally six years. Then we delete them.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Email help@homeresetters.ca or call (416) 474-0156. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
We update this page when the tools we use change. The date at the top shows the current version.
